JET-VAC® Troubleshooting

Instruments:

Make sure all instruments are reading correctly. Vacuum gage leaks will cause high absolute pressure readings.

Steam pressure

It should be at design or slightly higher.

Steam quality:

Exhaust steam temperature should be 240 °F or higher with suction blanked off.

Leakage:

Look for vacuum system leaks if a single-stage ejector pulls 27-28” Hg. in a closed test.

Discharge pressure:

Check all exhaust piping to make sure it is large enough and unrestricted.

Clogged nozzles

These occur mostly during the first weeks of operation. Unscrew nozzle inspection plug and check.
