JET-VAC® Steam Jet Chillers
The simplest, most reliable and economical way to chill liquids and solids
3-Stage Steam Jet Chiller System
Many plants don’t have the abundant supply of cool water required for their processes, particularly during hot seasons. JET-VAC ejector-based vacuum chillers can produce the required quantity of water for efficient process operations at temperatures from ambient to freezing.
JET-VAC chillers can reliably cool water from conventional cooling towers and other sources. They use low-pressure steam to achieve the required chilling temperatures year-round and have numerous industrial applications for processing liquids, solids and heat-sensitive materials.
JET-VAC chiller operation is remarkably simple and reliable
The steam-jet ejector creates a vacuum in a chamber. Process water flows into this vacuum chamber where it boils at the temperature determined by the vacuum level. Approximately 1060 BTU of liquid cooling occurs for each pound of water evaporated. The steam jet ejector compresses the water vapor to an absolute pressure where it can be condensed by the available cooling water.
In principle, any product having surface moisture can be cooled by evaporation, but the majority of installed JET-VAC chilling systems are used for cooling water. JET-VAC chillers are used in refineries, chemical processing plants, food and beverage manufacturers and the pulp and paper industry.
Applications include: Evaporation, Stripping, Refrigeration, Filtration, Distillation, Crystallization, Drying, and Degassing.
