How Evaporator/Stripper™ works

Evaporator/Stripper is ideally suited for difficult stripping applications

Artisan’s Evaporator/Stripper offers a unique approach to stripping volatiles from higher boiling products. It is designed to continuously combine thin-film evaporation and stripping in a single unit.

Volatiles are stripped out by a stripping gas such as steam or nitrogen. The disc-and-tube trays provide a fresh liquid film at each stage and a new surface for evaporation and stripping. The extremely low pressure drop across the column allows operation at deep vacuum levels, minimizing process temperatures.

Application-specific design ensures higher performance

Evaporator/Stripper is available in a variety of sizes and materials to meet specific processing needs. We use our extensive experience, supported by data from our fully equipped pilot plant, to design and build the optimal Evaporator/Stripper for your specific application.

We have designed Evaporator/Stripper columns for processing hundreds to tens of thousands of pounds per hour in a single unit, including products ranging from fine chemicals to food, pharmaceuticals and oleochemicals.

Evaporator/Stripper inner tube diameters range from 2” to 48” or larger, with 10 to 50 or more trays. The tube sections may be jacketed for steam or liquid heating media.

Available materials of construction include stainless steel (300 series and Duplex), carbon steel, nickel, Inconel®, Monel®, Hastelloy®, and titanium.
