- When the bottoms of the distillation column contain a heat sensitive substance, the long residence time of the substance in a typical distillation column reboiler causes unacceptable product degradation. Our Rototherms have short residence times.
- When one or more of the substances to be separated is a heavy viscous or tarry compound, which can foul the distillation column, we first feed into a Rototherm where the heavy viscous or tarry substances is continuously removed as bottoms. The lighter fractions go overhead to a condenser or to a fractionating column if further separation is required.
